What's new since build 8

PvP challenges

Compete > PvP Challenges. Call out up to four other anglers by phone number or email, set the rules and the window, and fish it out. They don't need the app yet — an invite goes out and the challenge is waiting when they install it.

• Best five scoring. Your five longest fish added up, biggest total wins — the same way tournaments have been scored for decades. Or pick biggest single fish, or most fish.
• A challenge starts the moment the FIRST person accepts, so nobody is held up by an invite that never gets answered. Anyone else still deciding can join until the fishing starts.
• Everyone's catches are visible to everyone in the challenge — the photo, the clip, the time, the place, and both measurements. A contest you can't examine is a contest you can't settle, so there's nothing hidden between competitors.

Challenges are free for now. Nothing can be charged — a challenge can't carry an entry fee at all yet, on the app or the server.

Public profile

Settings > Public profile. Choose whether your name and photo appear on the public standings at fishcoin.ai. Off by default: without it you show as your region, like "US/Georgia Angler". This only affects the public board — people you're in a challenge with always see your catches.

The app icon

Android has been showing the default Android placeholder icon this whole time instead of the FishCoin one. Fixed.

Catch photos

The still frame from each catch now uploads with it, so competitors in a challenge can see your fish rather than just your numbers.

Fixes

• The second line of text on the settings tiles was clipped and is no longer.
• Entering measurements now defaults to off, as it was always meant to.

Known limits in this build

• Only catches the app is confident about are counted, and right now that's a

minority of them — most come back as "being checked". If you land a good fish and it doesn't count, that's our measurement pipeline rather than anything you did, and we want to hear about it.

• Species restrictions on a challenge aren't enforced yet. Nothing identifies

a species automatically, so every measured fish counts. The app says so rather than pretending otherwise.

• SMS invites aren't wired up. Invites by email work; a challenge sent to a

phone number won't notify them yet.

What would help most

Tape-measure a fish and enter the number. It's the only real reference we have, and every one of them makes the measurements better.
